2. Overview of processing

The following overview summarises the types of data processed and the purposes of processing, and refers to the data subjects.

• Master data (e.g. names, email addresses)
• Content data (e.g. messages sent via the contact form)
• Usage data (e.g. pages visited, time of access)
• Meta/communication data (e.g. IP addresses, browser type)

3. Hosting and content delivery network

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

This website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The content is delivered via Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudFront (content delivery network). The provider is Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg.

When you visit this website, the hosting provider automatically records information in so-called server log files. These include:

• IP address of the accessing device
• Date and time of access
• Page / file requested
• Status code (e.g. 200, 404)
• Amount of data transferred
• Browser and operating system used
• Referrer URL

Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. There is a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of the website. The server log files are deleted automatically after 30 days. Before that, a copy is made in which the IP address is truncated (for IPv4 the last byte is removed, for IPv6 everything after the first 48 bits). This copy without the full IP address is kept for up to ten years for statistical analysis of website usage and deleted afterwards.

4. Contact form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, the details you enter in the form (first name, last name, email address, subject, message) are processed by us to handle the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions.

The data is transmitted via an encrypted HTTPS connection to an AWS Lambda service and forwarded to us as an email via Amazon SES (Simple Email Service). The data is not stored in a database; it is only delivered as an email.

Legal basis: The data is processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you give by submitting the contact form and ticking the consent checkbox. You can withdraw this consent at any time. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

5. Web analytics: Google Analytics 4

With your explicit consent, this website uses the web analytics service Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-RQZ6LDXZZ0) of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google uses cookies and similar recognition technologies to analyse your use of the website and to compile reports on website activity.

Legal basis: Processing takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TTDSG. Before you give your consent via the cookie banner, no cookies are set and the Google Analytics code is not loaded.

Data processed: When the website is accessed, the following data is transmitted to Google (after consent): IP address (truncated via the anonymize_ip flag), URLs visited and time spent, technical information about browser and device, approximate geographic origin at city level, anonymous click and scroll events.

Storage period: By default, Google stores the Analytics data for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.

Transfer to third countries: A transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which ensures an adequate level of data protection.

Data processing agreement: A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with Google.

Withdrawing consent: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. To do so, click here:

6. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser's address bar changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar.

You have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller regarding your personal data:

9. Changes to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always meets current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
